Terms of Service
Effective date: March 1, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
Solace is a product of Aevum AI Inc. ("Aevum AI," "we," "us," or "our"), a company incorporated in Canada. By accessing or using the Solace application ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
Solace is a meditation application that generates personalised guided meditation sessions. The Service uses large language models to create meditation scripts and AI text-to-speech technology to produce audio narration. Generated audio may be mixed with ambient music for a complete meditation experience. Sessions are stored for your future replay and may be accessed across devices.
3. Eligibility & Accounts
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. To use Solace, you must sign in with a supported authentication provider (currently Google OAuth). You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that occurs under it. You must promptly notify us if you become aware of any unauthorised use.
4. Billing & Minutes
Solace operates on a minute-based billing model. Free accounts receive a limited number of minutes. Paid subscriptions and one-time top-up packs provide additional minutes. Subscription minutes reset at the beginning of each billing cycle. Unused subscription minutes do not roll over. Top-up minutes never expire.
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current rate. You will be charged on the same date each month (or year, for annual plans). You may cancel at any time from your account page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you retain access until that period ends. No partial refunds are provided for the remaining period after cancellation. All purchases are non-refundable except where required by applicable consumer protection law (including, where applicable, EU Consumer Rights Directive cooling-off periods for digital content). All prices are in USD. Payments are processed securely by Stripe, Inc. on behalf of Aevum AI Inc. We never see or store your full payment card details.
5. Free Tier
Free accounts receive a one-time allotment of minutes. Free minutes are not replenished. Once exhausted, a paid subscription or top-up is required to continue generating new sessions. Your 3 most recent sessions are always available for replay. A paid subscription unlocks replay access to your full session library.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to: attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service or its systems; interfere with or disrupt the operation of the Service; redistribute, resell, or sublicence generated content for commercial purposes without prior written permission; use the Service to generate content intended to harm, harass, or deceive others; circumvent rate limits, safety filters, or other protective measures; or use the Service in any way that violates applicable law. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these provisions.
7. Intellectual Property
The Solace name, logo, and application code are the property of Aevum AI Inc. You retain no ownership of the underlying AI models, voice synthesis technology, or ambient music tracks. Meditation audio and scripts generated through the Service are provided for your personal, non-commercial use. You may share individual sessions privately but may not publish, distribute, or commercialise them without our written consent.
8. User Content & Licence
When you provide inputs to the Service (such as how you feel, your meditation goal, or a custom theme), you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to process, store, and display those inputs and the resulting generated content solely for the purpose of operating and delivering the Service. This includes generating your meditation session, storing it for your session history, and making it available for cross-device replay. We do not use your inputs to train AI models. We do not sell your inputs to third parties.
9. Third-Party Services
Solace relies on third-party service providers to operate, including providers for authentication, payment processing, AI processing, hosting, and analytics. Your use of the Service is also subject to the terms and privacy policies of these providers. A current list of sub-processors is maintained in our Privacy Policy.
10. Health & Wellness Disclaimer
Solace is a wellness application designed to support relaxation and mindfulness. It is not a medical device, not a form of therapy, and not a substitute for professional mental health care, medical advice, or crisis intervention. The content generated by Solace is for general wellness purposes only. Do not disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking it because of anything you experience through Solace.
If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, please contact emergency services or a crisis helpline: 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (US), Crisis Services Canada (1-833-456-4566), Samaritans (116 123, UK/Ireland), Lifeline (13 11 14, Australia), or your local emergency services.
Solace includes automated safety classifiers that detect crisis-related inputs and display crisis resources. These classifiers are not perfect and should not be relied upon as a safety system.
11. AI-Generated Content
Meditation scripts are generated by large language models. Voice narration is produced by AI text-to-speech technology. No human reviews, edits, or approves the content before it is delivered to you. While we employ multi-layer safety classifiers and output filters to reduce inappropriate content, AI-generated output may occasionally be imperfect, inaccurate, repetitive, or unsuitable. Solace makes no warranty regarding the quality, accuracy, therapeutic value, or appropriateness of AI-generated content. You acknowledge that AI-generated content may contain errors and should not be treated as professional guidance of any kind.
12. Indemnification
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Aevum AI Inc., its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.
13. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. AEVUM AI INC. MAKES NO WARRANTY THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY CONTENT GENERATED WILL MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS OR BE SUITABLE FOR ANY PARTICULAR PURPOSE. SOLACE IS NOT A MEDICAL SERVICE AND DOES NOT PROVIDE MEDICAL ADVICE.
14. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL AEVUM AI INC., ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, OR GOODWILL, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, ARISING OUT OF YOUR ACCESS TO, USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE. IN NO EVENT SHALL AEVUM AI INC.'S TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATED TO THE SERVICE EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU HAVE PAID TO AEVUM AI INC. IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) FIFTY CANADIAN DOLLARS (CAD $50). SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF CERTAIN DAMAGES. IN SUCH JURISDICTIONS, OUR LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
15. Dispute Resolution
Before initiating any formal proceeding, you agree to contact us at hello@solace.you and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days.
If the dispute is not resolved informally, you and Aevum AI Inc. agree that any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved by binding arbitration administered by the ADR Institute of Canada under its Arbitration Rules. The arbitration shall be conducted by a single arbitrator in Toronto, Ontario, in the English language. The arbitrator's decision shall be final and binding and may be entered as a judgment in any court of competent jurisdiction. Each party shall bear its own costs, and the parties shall share the arbitrator's fees equally.
You agree that any arbitration shall be conducted on an individual basis and not as a class, consolidated, or representative action. If for any reason a claim proceeds in court rather than in arbitration, you waive any right to a jury trial.
Where prohibited by law (including consumer protection statutes in the EU, UK, or certain Canadian provinces), this arbitration clause shall not apply and disputes shall be subject to the courts specified in Section 17.
16. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violation of these Terms, for prolonged inactivity, or for any other reason at our discretion. We will make reasonable efforts to provide notice before termination except in cases of abuse, fraud, or legal obligation. You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from your account page. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases. Data deletion is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.
17. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Toronto, Ontario. If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.
18. Force Majeure
Aevum AI Inc. shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations where such failure or delay results from circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, acts of government, internet or infrastructure outages, or failures of third-party service providers.
19. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by updating the effective date at the top of this page and, where practicable, by providing notice through the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree with the changes, you should stop using the Service.
20. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Aevum AI Inc. regarding your use of the Service and supersede all prior agreements.
21. Contact
